Job Description: Research Associate, Protein Sciences (Canton-MA USA)

We are actively seeking an enthusiastic scientist with expertise in molecular biology and protein purification to contribute to our hit-to-lead drug discovery efforts. This position is based at our facility in Canton, MA. You will collabrorate with an interdisciplinary team of senior scientists across the U.S. and Europe to support multiple drug discovery projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform cloning as well as other molecular biology techniques to support protein engineering projects using established protocols
• Characterize purified proteins using analytical methods such as SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and HPLC
• Execute protein expression and purification workflows for challenging drug targets
• Conduct biophysical screening and protein-based assays
• Establish and validate protein characterization methods using various analytical techniques
• Maintain detailed experimental records and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Collaborate cross-functionally with medicinal chemists, structural biologists, and computational scientists
• Manage laboratory inventory, reagent ordering, and other day-to-day lab activities

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an M.S. in a related biological science
• Proven track record in protein production and characterization
• Demonstrated experience with recombinant protein expression using bacterial, mammalian, or insect cell systems
• Hands-on experience with protein purification techniques, including various chromatography methods
• Familiarity with biophysical characterization methods
• Experience with high-throughput screening and assay development
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills
• Proven ability to troubleshoot technical challenges in the lab
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment
• Fluency in English is required
