Job Description

Our client, a growing Houston area law firm, is ready to hire an experienced Litigation Paralegal. .

Essential Functions

• Draft and prepare written discovery
• Assist with drafting complaints, motions, and briefs
• Perform basic legal research
• E-File in State and Federal Court
• Assist with preparation and filing of pleadings
• Manage litigation calendar and track case-related dates
• Prepare for trials - organizing exhibits, files, and all other case documents, coordinating trial set-up and logistics and assist attorneys in the courtroom as needed

Qualifications

• Ability to prioritize, organize, multi-task and problem solve
• Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with both State and Federal Courts’ rules and procedures
• Familiarity with law, legal procedures, and protocols
• Knowledge and understanding of eDiscovery

Preferred Education and Experience

• College degree, paralegal certificate or equivalent combination of skills and experience
• 4 or more years of experience working as a litigation Paralegal

This is a direct hire/permanent opportunity and is in the office Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. The firm is located in the 77019 zip code. Parking is paid.
